Dear Administrator. I could probably help out Rangi and how the Piwari family are related to the Tuuta family. If you want to pass on my email details to Rangi, that’s fine too.
Regards

WE ARE SO LUCKY TO LIVE IN A COUNTRY THAT HAS SO MANY FREEDOMS,LIKE “SAY WHAT WE WANT WHEN WE WANT”,WE MAY NOT AGREE 50% OF THE TIME BUT THATS COOL,HERE IN THE COUNTRY I AM IN AT THE MOMENT I GO TO THE SHOPPING MALL AND GET CHECKED AT THE DOORS BY MEN AND WOMEN WITH SUBMACHINE GUNS AND GET PROTECTED WHEN IN THE SHOPS BY MEN WITH PUMPACTION SHOTGUNS WE ARE SO LUCKY TO ONLY WORRY ABOUT PROTECTION OF OUR INFORMATION ON A WEBSITE.

If an incorporated Society that is set up to represent their Iwi is not answerable to their members - then who are they answerable to?

Upon reading your article dated 25sept 2006, do you think that the incorperated society/iwi trust mentioned are answerable to you..You BASTARD!

Kia ora Steve
Im not sure how the connection works but here’s what I can share:
My name is Rangi Piwari
My father is Raymond Edward PIWARI
My Grandfather is Edward (Ned) Pahia PIWARI My Great grandfather is Te Horo PIWARI
Im currently living in Wellington and have just made contact with another Tuuta whanau (Jenny Tuuta) she is currently living in Taranaki.
I saw your website and thought he tino pai rawa atu, it was with curiosity that I checked out the names from the whakapapa tree of Tuta Tutere that I happened to come across the name “Charlie Piwari” who married Katarina (Katie) Tuuta, so he must be a whanaunga some where along the line, but not sure what the connection is to my grandparents...e kare, mehemea koe ki te awhina mo tenei panui then choice, any info would be most appreciated.
I have whakapapa that goes as far as Te Horo and his wife Kupa, if you can assist with any other info then choice, I look forward to hearing from you.
He mihi nui ki a koe, e manaaki
Naku noa na
Rangi Piwari.
Can anyone out there help Rangi.

kia ora ano zorro.
its good to see that you fond out who i am and where i come from and so on. i have nothing to hide. do u?
If you look at where you got the info you will see we are all on the same line not in whakapapa form which lumps every one together putting them all on the one line or do you class your self on the same line as our tipuna, aunties, uncles and cousins?
you mentioned
If its about the layout then feel free to improve it.
I am not the admin of this site and what i said was a mere sugestion.
I’m sure that uncle would welcome any of this.I believe this is what the site is about. Is it not?
you also said this.
Feel free also to RESPECT what others have done for you and the rest of us off their own backs
if we are not open for sugestions then what are we here for?
if any thing i want to give our tipuna the respect they deserve. by putting them in there right full place. how about you?

Mayla? I’m guessin its Tia-cara Mayla Winitana? A simple click of the mouse on your name brings up your profile and tells me that you are the daughter of Jill, who is the daughter of Inia William (Bill), who is the son of Toko George, who is the son of Tuta Tutere (Tipuna). It also lets me know who is your Mothers husband, your siblings, your partner and your children as well as personal stuff about you that you have submitted. What more would anyone need to know so as to find out who is who?
If its about the layout then feel free to improve it. I’m sure that Steve would welcome this from you. Feel free also to RESPECT what others have done for you and the rest of us off their own backs!

i dont know to much about how whakapapa should or shouldnt b showen.
but i do agree with others that i have spoken to if you look at our whakapapa that we have on here at present it show that you can click on to our tipuna and this takes you in to their line.
once you get in to them it shows our aunties and uncles cousins and mokopuna all on the same line this should be changed so we know who is who.
It just respectfull. I believe

Firstly, I’ve had no response from my first question 24/7/06 11:31am, so I’ll take it that there is none (Representative body). Secondly, it has been 3 weeks since my next question; 10/8/06 11:02am and no response except from Jamie-Lee in regards to personal info which as she stated was “simple”.
So was this the issue? But then Jamie-Lee asked about our identity being sacrosanct and what does this mean? So further to this (though I notice there has been no response to this either), is how does ones identity become sacrosanct?
I would love to hear from anyone about this as its interesting for me to learn about and I encourage others to put forward their perspectives.
Remember...it’s all good!

Tena Koe Dion,
Regarding your email about our Whakapapa, Can you please clarify what point you are making by the comment “but our identity is sacrosanct”. What does this mean?
Thanks

Kia Ora Koutou,
When you register with the website you can clearly see that it is not compulsary for members to submit personal information, it is a choice. If you do not wish to have it there to be publically seen by the whanau, don’t submit it.
Simple.

Sorry my concern is only with access to our personal information while not logged into the website can be used by dishonest people. There are alot of dishonest people who use the internet. I am not wanting to prevent our children from learning the whakapapa this way...This is a great idea! I want to protect the information from the INTERNET WEIRDOS that could use some of the personal info eg Change of identity,.....Passport fraud,....etc

protection from what?
Hello who has what too hide.
My kids look at this site and say the old one`s are holding back .....loss of power (fear of what?) come on, it’s 2006 not the year 1800! when we all lived in the rohe. We now have a way to talk in an open way (fair). But when i am told let`s live in the dark past (OLD DAYS) so we can hold fear over our kids, get over it! 2006 is not the dark ages if you think holding back is the way, you do not live in the real world and when you (old ones)are gone, where do our kids look for there whakapapa? Will it be right? .........or (TAKEN) gone with the old ones. We can make it up, tell (kids) anything! We older ones must get it right, this is the way of today. If we live in the past our kids are lost. open up let us all see who WE ARE and be PROUD of it!

To my Uncles and Aunties and many cousins my apologies on the publication of your names without your permission or consent. I am Grand-daughter of George and Kuini Tuuta. I sent a list of names that I had from our first Reunion at Urenui on our branch to Steve. I did think that these names would not be published until they had registered themselves and that the names would only be used as a list to be marked off. It definately was a mis-understanding between myself and Steve but in saying that Steve you are a LEGEND for making this website available for our whakapapa and I thank you. I am in agreeance with Dion on the subject of privacy and also I would like to see information on the website protected and only accessible when the user is logged in.
I reside in Australia with my two children, for me this site is like a reconnection with whanau that I had left when they were children....now they have children and for me to learn more about the life of Koros whanau.
For my children it is acknowledgement that they belong to a greater whanau that extends further than their immediate Aunty and Uncles.

After reading the latest panui in regards to the email, my first question, and I assure you of many, is; what is meant by “...openly without any protection.”?
