The Tuuta Family Tree
Tuta Tutere was the youngest son of Arapera Mohi Te Ranginui and Te Rangikatuta (Tutere).Tuta was born in Taranaki after his older brother Te Oti Kerei and his parents returned from the Chatham Islands (Wharekauri) with Te Heke o Maruwehi in1868.
Tuta Tutere was the full brother of Te Oti Kerei, he returned to Chatham Island (Wharekauri) and married Pare Hough, Pare was the oldest daughter of Peti Coffee (Kawhe) and Edward Hough. Pare and Tuta produced twelve children.
Tuta Tutere returned to Urenui, Taranaki. He died January 1921 at Urenui. He died in the old Titohea (dinning room) in Te Pitore at Urenui Pa. He is buried in the Urupa, Tautaratui. Pare Hough died on the Chatham Islands (Wharekauri). She is buried at the Tuuta Whanau Urupa at The Bluff (Pakarikari).
